I started the Book-of-the-Month back in November 2022 as a way to encourage reading across our network. My vision was for something kind of like the One City, One Book movements that have sprouted up in various places. I started out calling it a Book Club, with three recommendations across genres, but quickly realized that was overwhelming. Also, calling it a
“Book Club” was confusing, since we weren’t officially meeting to talk about the books.

So it’s become Book-of-the-Month, or BOTM. It’s a monthly recommendation, and you can take it or leave it. I know a lot of people *want* to read more, but sometimes don’t know where to start. This list can hopefully be a starting point!
